The brief.
Orbit Pay handles recurring money — rent splits, family allowances, subscriptions. Their old interface treated every payment like a one-off, so users could never see the loop: what comes back, when, and to whom.
The dig.
We redesigned the product around orbits. Every recurring flow is a ring around the thing it feeds; drag a payment to a wider orbit and it happens less often. One metaphor, the whole product — onboarding, dashboard, even the error states.
The shine.
Support tickets about "where did my money go" dropped by a third. The orbit dashboard demo became their best-performing ad, and the design system now ships features in days, not sprints.
